Darlene is married to Tom and they have five children. Tom is her best friend, greatest support and biggest fan. The support and help that Tom gives allows her to stay focused on her work and meet her deadlines. Darlene has perfected her craft and has become internationally recognized for her work. She has authored numerous articles for doll periodicals and appeared on "Arizona Illustrated" a local Tucson television program.
She was the guest artist, lecturer for the Historic Hahndorf Extravaganza, South Australia, in April 2002. Darlene taught for Bell Ceramics for 12 years as a traveling seminar teacher. Her dolls have appeared on numerous covers of "DOLL CRAFTER"and "DOLL MAKERS WORKSHOP."
She has also been featured in several articles in the "DOLL ARTISIAN" magazine. One article written by Colleen and Mildred Seeley made the following statement in part) "Until recently, neither of us had ever seen an antique reproduction that we couldn't spot. The reproduction that finally fooled us was made by Darlene Lane of Tucson, Arizona” It resided proudly at Shandele (Mildred Seeley's home) with her authentic Bru collection for many years.
